How to use it
- Add the images you want to shrink. You can add several at once.
- Choose a max size and quality, and the images are compressed right away, showing how many percent smaller each one got.
- Happy with the result? Download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Tips for a much smaller file
- Resizing is the most effective step. Phone photos are usually over 4000px wide, but 1920px is plenty for viewing on screen or placing in a document. This alone cuts the size dramatically.
- At 70 to 80% quality you can hardly tell the difference. If the size limit is tight, try going down to 60%.
- WEBP is smaller than JPG at the same quality. Just make sure wherever you're uploading accepts WEBP first.
When the result is bigger than the original
Re-saving an already well-compressed image at a high quality setting can actually make it bigger. If you keep the same format without resizing and the result ends up larger, we give you back the original unchanged. PNG screenshots usually get far smaller when converted to JPG or WEBP.
FAQ
Are my photos sent to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely inside your browser and your photos are never uploaded anywhere.
What happens to a transparent PNG compressed as JPG?
JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. To keep transparency, choose WEBP or Same as original.
How many images can I do at once?
Up to 50 images at a time, up to 100MB each. The tool uses your device's memory, so dozens of high-resolution photos may slow down a phone. If that happens, work in smaller batches.
