How to use it
- Add the HWP or HWPX files you want as PDF. You can add several at once.
- When the conversion finishes you'll see a preview of the first page and the page count. Check the preview to make sure everything looks right.
- Press Download PDF to save it. With several files, you can download them all as a ZIP.
When you'll need this
- Your assignment has to be submitted as a PDF, but your laptop doesn't have Hancom Office
- You received an HWP file on your MacBook or phone and just want to read it
- You want to keep a PDF copy of an HWP notice or form from your professor or teammates
How good is the conversion?
Body text, tables, images, equations, two-column layouts, headers and footers are all reproduced page for page. Hancom's proprietary fonts (such as Hamchorom Batang) are rendered with similar-looking free fonts, so the letterforms may differ slightly from the original. The content and layout stay the same.
Each page is embedded in the PDF as a high-resolution image, so you can't select and copy text inside the PDF. For printing, submitting and archiving, this makes no difference.
FAQ
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens entirely inside the browser you're using, and your document is never sent anywhere. Even documents with personal information are safe to convert here.
Can I convert a password-protected HWP?
Yes, if you know the password. You'll be asked for it when you add the file. Distribution-only documents and DRM-protected documents can't be converted.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Long documents take longer on a phone, though, and may stop if memory runs out. For documents with dozens of pages or more, we recommend converting on a PC.
What about very old HWP files (Hangul 97 or earlier)?
We support the format used since Hangul 2002 (HWP 5.0) and HWPX. Very old formats may lose some content.
This product was developed with reference to the publicly released Hangul word processor file (.hwp) specification from Hancom Inc. HWP processing uses the open-source rhwp library (MIT license).
